Brown trout
Minimize

The brown trout in Lakselva is in many cases ignored by the salmon fishermen who visit the river. Maybe this is the reason why we find such a solid and big brown trout in the river. Species ranging from half a kilo and up to two kilos are found on a regular basis.

The Lakselva is a river with a lot of variations, ranging from deep pools to whitewater and slow running water. The vegetation along the river adds a lot of nutrition to the river, which again leads to good production of insects that, among others, serve the purpose of being food for the brown trout.

We encourage the fishermen to be restrictive when it comes to killing brown trout, since it will be vulnerable to a high outtake.
