I’m assuming that you are well on your way with tying flies and day dreaming about large Lakselva-salmon. It’s also about time to start buying your license, since some of the most popular day already are taken. We see that zone two is the most popular one, but also some of the days in zone one and three start to get sold out. The chances of encounters of the third degree with salmon in these zones are also very much present.

Zone four is a more undiscovered part of Lakselva. The zone is quite small, but mainly all of the salmon caught in this zone is large salmon (15 lbs +). Zone four is however preserved from august and out the season, but the possibilities are good before this time. You should therefore take this zone into consideration when buying your licenses. PS! There’s a limitation of four licenses per day sold in this zone (in addition to local fishermen) and this make this zone a good choice for a small bunch of friends or colleagues.
We can also report that there is a good portion of snow in the Lakselv- and Porsanger area this winter. Hopefully we will see an even melting which will lead to good conditions throughout the season. Lakselva has been more or less covered in ice this winter, and this has protected eggs, fry and the valuable winter fish for much stress.
