Lakselva has experienced one of the biggest floods in decades this spring, but the water is now recessing. By the suspension bridge in zone 3, the river came only about one inch away from touching the bottom of the bridge, but cold water stopped the worst melting in the mountains, and now damaged was caused to the bridge.

The advantage by such a big flood is that most of the winther fish is swept away and into the ocean, and thus is released of the stress of being caught in the regular season. It's important that these good genes is allowed to live on and spread their genes to future generations.

Let me also use the occasion to welcome you to Lakselva this summer. We've got high hopes of copying the great catches from the previous two years, but that is not easy to predict.
