Karhukostet, also know as The Bear Pool, is one of the true gems in zone 1. Karhukostet has a relatively slow and gliding current, and the pool is open for license-fishermen from both banks. Most guys prefer to fish it from the east bank, both because of availability, but also because the fly is better presented from this bank. Here, as most other places, I won't advice you to wade a whole lot, since you will only push the fisher farther away by doing so. Because of this, you are in need of a rather long cast, especially at the top part of Karhukostet.

This picture shows the lower parts of Karhukostet.
Getting to the bottom of Karhukostet, you will find a small promontory on the west bank which causes the river to narrow. Here you will "always" find jumping fish, and the so-called tourist salmon are also found here. They're called tourist salmon because of their continous jumping and splashing about, but they can drive the fisherman mental, as they are hard to hook.
