Sammunsaari
Minimize

To my knowledge, Sammunsaari does not mean jumping salmon, but if you spend some time here, you will rarely leave without having spotted jumping fish. There's no guarantee it will take your fly, but it is still a good fishing spot. Sammunsaari is fished from the west bank, and it's very characteristic by the river eroding a lot on the opposite bank. This gives room for sand martens, which are very prominent in this area. Sammunsaari is found by clicking here, and you may park your car here.

You will find fish holding mostly towards the opposite bank, but the river is quite narrow at this spot, so it doesn't take a long cast to cover the holding areas. The fishable strecth is quite long, and Sammunsaari is connected to the next pool up, Mantero.
