Uuenväylänsuanto (often reffered to simply as Suanto) is yet another legendary pool in zone 3. The pool is a slight walk away from the nearest parking, but it's definitely worth the trip. Suanto is a quite linear pool, with a very prominent current towards the west-bank. Fishing your way downstream, this becomes more and more evident, forcing the fisherman to make a longer and longer cast. You'll also get a s-formed line, which could cause difficulties presenting the fly properly. Suanto fishes well on the entire stretch, but it's mainly in the top part you'll find the most accessible and attractive fishing.

The top part of Suanto is characterized by two courses coming together. As you can see, the current is consentrated towards the western bank.

Having fished your way downstream, you will find that the river slows down a little, but since the currents is focused towards the west bank, you will need a long cast to cover the most attactive area. Please note that Suanto is also fished from the west bank, but vegetation, current and depth makes it more attractive to fish from the east bank. Click here if you want to know where Suanto is.
